SmartMusic - A fantastic program for use with our lesson book in 4th and 5th grade, especially if you need extra help or want to "go further" and work ahead. SmartMusic plays accompaniment tracks for student assignments, but it does MUCH more, including scrolling on-screen music and feedback on which notes were played right/wrong. It also comes with a tuner, metronome, and audio recorder.

Boomthang - This is simple, but really cool! 4 track loop arranger allows kids to trigger drums, bassline, lead, and vocal fx. Reminds me of old "Rock, Rap, 'n Roll" program.
